You’re Journey To Healing Starts Here.
You might feel as though it’s better to silently suffer because no one will ever truly understand you.
I’m here to sit with you in the discomfort, to listen and guide you on how to process that pain.
You've been placing pressure on yourself to meet impossible expectations that leave you feeling inadequate, isolated or possibly reinforcing the belief that you’re a failure and not capable.
You might be struggling right now, maybe feeling suicidal, maybe anxious or disconnected, maybe feeling overwhelmed with too many emotions, maybe having thoughts like "I’m a burden,” “they’re better off without me,” “I just want to wake up and no longer be here” or "I don’t want to do this anymore." Maybe people expected you to have your life together or take care of others but your needs were set aside and now you don't know how to put yourself first or take care of yourself without feeling guilty. Maybe you feel as though you are far behind in life compared to your peers and often find yourself comparing your circumstances only to be left feeling worse. You might be feeling hurt and worried that if you allow yourself to be vulnerable that you'll be rejected again and proven right to not have opened up in the first place. You might have learned to stay quiet or to argue back in the hopes that others will leave you alone. You don't have to build those walls up forever, you can learn to trust again even if right now you don't know where to begin or how.
If anything I've said so far you identify with then hello and welcome :) you’re not alone.
You and many people have learned to respond to stress, trauma and fear in ways that help you to feel safe but continuing to live in the past and respond this way is no longer helpful for you. It might even be contributing to you feeling unfulfilled during big life events. Processing why you react or think the way you do helps to increase your chances of changing how you think, feel and live. It's hard to do but you won't be alone; I'll be right there with you.
Don't continue facing your worries alone, you can learn to trust again and free yourself.
About Me.
One of my favorite things about being a therapist is being able to show you what a supportive and empathic relationship can look like while teaching you skills to process your experiences. I teach skills to people who struggle with feeling connected to others and/or themselves due to feeling shutdown, disconnected, overwhelmed or anxious and are ready to work on this. The skills I teach are derived from evidence-based treatments (like DBT, RO-DBT and EXRP) that can help you learn how to process and cope with uncomfortable feelings like stress, anxiety and sadness by providing a blueprint on how to do so which otherwise would be difficult figure out and to do alone.
